Blood Glucose and Heart Disease – great HbA1c associational Study #LCHF2015

Ok, so we’re in associational territory again – but what the hell; topic of HbA1c came up with George Henderson yesterday, and I dug out this nice auld cut on the Norfolk Study (featured data from it in the Cholesterol Conundrum). HbA1c is not a perfect marker for issues, but all the mechanisms check out nicely, and where would you like to be on the scale?  The study:

Excerpt Plots to whet the appetite, and btw – that’s not an error on the ladies graph – the risk is so high for >7% HbA1c, I couldn’t really fit it in the plot. The risk is actually 7 times higher for the hi glycated Haemo females – leaving little time for the grandchildren:
